So cute.

Had to share.

Hope he doesn’t mind!

From Bob:

We have gone to Shupp’s Grove for more than 10 years. We live in Southern Chester County, PA and it’s a short hop <60 minutes to Shupp’s. I have been to flea markets on both sides of the Atlantic – marche aux puces in France, flaumarkt in Germany, boot sales in Britain – and Shupp’s is among the best. There is a bit of same old, same old with regard to the merchandise which doesn’t seem to move much year-to-year. I’d like to say the quality and variety of the offerings has gone down since we started going to Shupp’s, but that is true of all flea markets of our acquaintance. Yesterday’s Associated American Artists prints are gone now. The 18th and 19th century wrenches I collect are only available one weekend a year instead of every weekend as used to be the case. But one might say that is the general case in America. And I am now, at 70, increasingly challenged by Christ’s words, “where your treasure is, there your heart is also”. We will continue to go to Shupp’s for the beauty of the experience, and the occasional surprise of finding, at low cost, something new that cannot be resisted and we have room for. Turning corners and going up another tree-shade aisles is one of the joys of the warmer months we will take time to experience. That, and low-priced good food in the restaurant at at Weaver’s Market in Adamstown

Now doesn’t that make you happy?

Bob: Are you looking to adopt? I know a darling redhead in need of a Grandpop. Oh who am I kidding? I’m old enough to be your daughter. Are you in the market? Can I call you Grandpop anyway?

In other news, I fired up the sewing machine the other night and made the straps to my tote bag longer.

Also finally put a button hole & button on my new macbook carrying case. It’s a faux French General fabric I picked up at Ikea, the interior is red flannel.

Every Sunday morning the Fiance and I lay in bed discussing our various aches & pains & plans for the day. At some point one of us will say the magic word…croissant. Within 5 minutes we are dressed. We look bedraggled, but we’re at least all *shirts & shoes* ready. Then, we skulk off to the french patisserie and gobble warm croissants.

Oh heaven, I will be good if you confirm there are croissants up there.

In Paris the croissants always come in thin paper bags with awesomely terrible graphics. Our local place does this too. Check out my chocolate croissant complete with cheesetastic bag. Love it.

After we picked up our bag o’ croissants and baguettes, we made a mad dash through Rite Aid. Valentine’s Day junk was 75% off. Score! The $4 bags of kisses & m&m’s were just 99cents each…and I had a gift card from a previous deal. I love chocolate…but I love free chocolate even more! The m&m’s are green. Hysterical! Will freeze the kisses & m&m’s to use in future baking adventures. MMMmmm Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies!

If you haven’t had quite enough chocolate, feel free to grab some peanut m&m’s, they’re in the jar on the dining room table.

Happy Sunday!

It’s been an intense couple of weeks between the homeless kitten, no heat, searching for an apartment in NYC, doing my taxes, etc. I am zonked. Z.O.N.K.E.D. I feel like I could sleep for a week – but my mind just won’t shut off. I get in bed and toss and turn and think of 5 million other things that I need/want to do. Oh boy. I think I might need someone to drop me off on an island with no wifi, iphone or work for at least 1 day. Fruity drinks would be a plus.

Speaking of fruity drinks, as crazy as this week has been, we did manage to run out one night for a date. It was so nice I nearly cried. Stress. Oh stress…

In other news, Penny has been practicing posing for her graduation photo.

Last but not least, I kinda-sorta wrote a book and a Publisher kinda-sorta bought it this week.

It will be in stores Fall 2011.

I contacted SEVEN shelters. All full. All refused.

This kitten is about 5 months old, has a collar, no tag. Can not locate the owners (I assure you, I’ve tried). Assume she was tossed out on the street. She is super sweet & full of cuddles. Litter box champ! Purrs like a chainsaw!

Did I mention that this kitten has some mega connections in the Literary world?

Fur Real.

Goody bag for the home that adopts her:

1 set of signed Twilight hardcovers

Big bag of cat litter.

Litter box.

Kim Richardson of www.theunbreakablechild.com has pledged $100 towards kitten’s first Vet visit.

I can deliver her within the NYC area or as far upstate as Albany.

What do you say? Need some company? A kitty to read books with? It’s your lucky day!

Do you lay in bed at night and obsess over your fabric? What? Just me? Come on, admit it. I won’t tell anyone.

A week or so ago I was in bed trying to settle down and pass out but all I could think about was the navy blue velvet fabric I have and the red, white & blue ribbons in my ribbon bucket. Union Jack! I woke up the next day and I was still thinking about it…but I had to go to work. I thought about it all day at work too. My hands were freakin’ itching to get started! Gosh, I’m a dork. So anyway, I created my own interpretation of the British flag. When I was done I didn’t really know what to do with it. I sat at my desk staring at the big ugly computer monitor waiting for further inspiration. Then it hit me. Monitor Cover.

Holla!

Also, wore the scarf I made the other day. Lawd All Mighty…I’m actually smiling in this picture!

Snow Day! So pretty outside. Tucker spent hours today sitting in the window watching the big fluffy flakes. Was so tempted to put the leash & collar on him and haul him outside. I love watching kitties spaz out in the snow. You know, where they pick up one paw at a time and shake it vigorously with complete disgust. Makes me giggle!

We’ve been having a terrible problem with the furnace so the last few days have been fraught with angry phone calls, city agencies, and woolly socks. Joy. Not. Much better today (so far). In an effort to stay warm, I’ve been drinking lots of hot milky tea. I might float away.

I (mostly) finished the patchwork scarf I wanted to make.

Might add a bit of trim or some rick rack too it. The back of the scarf is an old curtain that I picked up in Paris. Shhh! Don’t tell. The patches are from the fabulous Kim.

The scarf is super long so I can wrap it around a few times. And yes, I did tie off the corners with bakery twine. Why not? I’ve got like 9000 feet of it! LOL A warm scarf has been a welcome addition the last few days. Brrr!

Thanks to the snowstorm, my office was closed today. The kitties and I read a book, grilled zucchini and made pasta & sauce. Nice relaxing day (occasionally with heat!). I used a recipe from this month’s issue of House Beautiful, it’s Ina Garten’s recipe…but I adapted it a bit based on what I had in the house.

Ina’s recipe calls for 4 pints of grape tomatoes, I only had 1. Also, I don’t have thyme. Sooo…here’s what I did…

1/2 cup olive oil

big dash of basil

2 tablespoons finely chopped garlic

big dash Herbs de Provence

couple of healthy shakes of black pepper

1/2 teaspoon red pepper

1 pint tomatoes

2/3 cup kalamata olives (I tossed them in whole)

2 tablespoons of Parmesan

heat all that up mixing it around for about 5-6 minutes.

open a jar of marinara sauce, dump it in. Mix it around, simmer for 20 minutes.

Dump it on cooked angel hair pasta. Eat. Yum!

I also grilled up a bunch of zucchini on a George Foreman grill and had that on the side. Love grilled zucchini.

Mostly though, we’ve been doing a lot of this…

Penny turns 1 today!

Penny wants a tiara, some Babymouse books and to give Tucker away.
I told her she can have a tiara and all the books she wants…but Tucker stays.

So glad we made the 6 hour drive to bring her home!
