We got up early this morning and spent the day with the Fiance’s parents at the Stormville flea market. I filled the trunk. Literally. Sure this is “purge-atory weekend” – but – but – but. Whatever.
My most favorite item that I scored was the wool camp blanket. My only regret was not buying more of them. For $15 bucks, it was a total steal. I’ve been wanting one of these for awhile and they are just so expensive on LL Bean, etc. Mine isn’t Hudson Bay, but it still rocks the house.
Second most favorite item was the vintage wooden spools (seen above). They are huge (about a foot long) and the big thread bobbins.
I also got a gorgeous velvet stool for the closet – so I can pretend I have a huge walk in closet – but it’s still in the trunk of the car. This syroco mirror has a few “ouch spots” but I grabbed it for a few bucks (not the $22 it’s marked at…). Hoping I can fix it with a little plaster and sculpting.
The Fiance found 4 paint-by-number paintings for me – Love these!
How cute are the Fiance & his Dad with their root beer floats?
The Fiance’s Mom surprised me with a children’s book about homes and a funny “Canada” scarf. The Fiance and I had a rip roarin’ argument yesterday about “Canada” so the scarf was just good silly fun.
I found a great watercolor painting with a faux bamboo frame (still in the trunk…). More pics later…I got a ton more stuff…like barkcloth pants, vera scarves, tintin (french character) duvet cover, wicker kitty bed, syroco wall sculptures, books, vintage/wooden shoe inserts, dessert plates, Victoria & Albert mugs, and I found a source for chicken coop shelving, etc.
Check out the chicken coop shelving below…I desperately want these but I’ll need to rent a truck.
The same woman had all those wooden spools…lots of wooden spools…
Good news…that shirt I had custom made on Etsy fits. Gosh I always look *soooo happy* in pictures.

I love the chicken coop shelving! Mmmm…wine rack.
I’d also love to scoop up those (egg?) baskets in front of them.
Looks like good times for sure. Had a bit of a flea/crafty fair weekend myself. I’ve just been too busy binging to get to my blog.
p.s. Shirt is super cute.

Laura – The woman who owns those is having a tag sale at her house in Brewster in a few weeks, Not sure if I can make it, but if I do, happy to get a basket for you, I can at least get it to Manhattan. Lemme know. No clue how much they are but I have her phone number.

Yes, the shirt is cute – and the mirror shape, augh! I missed one of those on ebay not long ago – hmmm (shakes finger at Jean).
Love the chicken coop shelves – straight out of Flea Market Decor mags. I always wonder where they get all those wire baskets!

I got the mirror at Marshalls a year or so ago for $20. It came with a doorknob like hook but I couldn’t figure out for the life of me how to mount it to the wall. I need to put a ribbon or something up there to mask the picture hanger.
