I think this is my 3rd day stuck in the house. Groan! That said, the new President has me hopeful about all things including the concept that Spring will come again and things may bloom. To that end…I grabbed the skirt. You remember the skirt…the one on the left that everyone loved…

and some scissors…and I started hacking away…

Cut out the zipper…sewed a new seam…redid the hem so that it was straight across…and made a cover for my sewing machine. Now I can pretend that something is blooming around here…

oh…did you want to see the naughty picture? tsk. tsk. tsk. upskirt shot…

Flu Boy ate a scrambled egg and 1/4 cup of white rice…now he’s snoring. I think he’ll live.

That is so cute. You are extremely imaginiative and talented.
Thank God Flu boy is better. Now he needs to eat something greasy. Trust Gladys on this.

Well, if the skirt had to be destroyed (in the sense that it’s no longer wearable), this was a great way for it to be re-purposed. It’s just perfect. As someone who has always wanted to sew but was most definitely *not* blessed with the ability to even sew a straight line, I’m green with envy over your talent. Even something relatively simple like this would end up lop-sided and puckered!

Ah HA! I am 100% at one with your skirt redo (though I coveted said skirt, it was too wee and not meant to be). I think you should send to design*sponge.
