Fabric Mayhem, Flea Market Finds

Marche aux Puces

We’re back in the hotel room for our afternoon nap (he sleeps, I blog). This morning we headed to the Marche aux Puces de la Porte de Vanves in Paris. Yes, another flea market. This one was much more fun than the fancy-schmancy expensive Clignancourt market. This flea market had tables full of bric a brac set up along several blocks. I only wish we had gotten there earlier in the day. Cest la vie! I was able to pick up an enormous bolt of antique french hemp linen for a good price. I almost bought some ribbon but at the last minute I decided against it. I regret that now. Drats! On the outskirts of the professional tables were locals selling their items on blankets on the street. The Fiance picked up a pack of AA batteries for 1Euro for me. Hurrah! My rechargeables had just gone kaput. My camera likes to carp out with the lens fully extended. Joy.

Before you get to the second hand sellers, there’s a really nice food market. OMG. These radishes were so beautifully displayed, how can you resist? It is impossible.

Really, isn’t citrus even more tempting when sold with the leaves? Gorgeous.

Tart city!

I think we’re going to wander around the Eiffel Tower tonight and then take a boat ride down the river.
