It has been raining nearly non-stop in New York for more than 5 weeks. Seriously, when did we become Seattle? The few times it hasn’t rained, I’ve been at work or on a business trip. Know what that means?
Tall Grass And Lots Of Mud!
Several weeks ago I acquired the most beautiful and fancy patio umbrella I’ve ever had the luxury of owning from Cushions & Umbrellas. Robert at Cushions & Umbrellas has been awesome to work with – top notch customer service and product knowledge. Robert gave me a 10% off coupon code to pass along to you: renovation10

The umbrella has been sitting in the foyer mocking me for weeks. Everytime I walk past it I think of the bbq parties we have NOT had the opportunity to host because of this rain-rain-rain. The rain in New York has been so bad that I’ve contemplated using the patio umbrella to go to the grocery store and run errands. I could be the crazy chick walking down Madison Avenue with a 9 foot umbrella! That’d really show the obnoxious dudes that carry golf umbrellas in the city.

Anyhoo, still raining in New York. Rained all weekend. I tossed on my shoes and installed the fancy-schmancy Sunbrella umbrella in the rain. The color/pattern is Bravada Limelight. Did I mention the super awesome pulley system to open and close it? Ooh La La!

Also working on getting an outdoors rug to cover the black bamboo-killing tarp mess. Hoping that’s here in the next week or so. The umbrella is so beautiful, it’s inspiring me to work extra hard on the yard (once the rain stops, if ever!) and now I’m thinking I’ll have to keep an eye out for deal on a bigger/better wooden table to compliment the umbrella.
Now, if only we had some sunshine so the ground would dry up enough to mow! Let’s also say a quick prayer that the local hood rats don’t run off with my stripey goodness. I’d cry.
{How much rain? Check out the green moss growing on the wood fence in the middle picture, our sidewalks are mossy too!}

Dude – I feel your pain. Nothing but rain here in New England too! Your new umbrella is extra spectacular!! Please walk it down the streets of Manhattan – you know you’d make the news!!

I think the idea of walking down Madison sporting your new 9 ft. wonder is a brilliant one! I can totally see it. Make sure to post the photo of Your Royal “Stripey” Highness.

We’ve gotten 20+ inches since April 1 and of the 80 days since then, only 11 have been coded as “clear”. UGH!!!

We had a terrible and tragic draught two summers ago, so I am glad everything is green and moist this year. Even if mildew and mushrooms are spreading everywhere.
Working on a straw bale garden, my soil is hard clay. Nice ‘brella.

Have you thought of getting astroturf for the black tarp/bamboo kill thing? Easy fix, inexpensive too.

Moss on fence? Hah! We have moss on our patio umbrella. That’s hardcore!

The best part is that here in the Seattle area it hasnt rained more than a few drops in 32 days.

Um…98 dry baking degrees over here. Send some of that rain our way (and the lovely umbrella, too).
