The other day I was wandering around my favorite $1 store in Hudson and found this pack of 25 lady bug mini clips.

Seriously, how could I not buy them? Not sure what I’ll do with them. For the time being I’ve placed them in a well-ventilated container so they won’t suffocate. A bucks worth of silly joy.

Less happy news…chippy paint. ARGH! I knew I should have hired the other religious nut to paint the house. Clearly, I went with the wrong fanatic.

Contemplating raising the roof on the back of the house for a bit more room. Can I afford it? Probably not, but I have no idea what the costs would be for what I’d like done. Who knows, maybe I’ll be surprised. Will it happen? No idea.

That porthole window makes me cringe. Who thought that was a good idea? Everytime I look at it from the outside, I shake my head. Not to mention, I’ve never figured out how to put a curtain over it so the sun wakes us up bright & early in the summer.

Ooooh, double garage, aren’t you special?

we use the bug clips for hanging artwork on wire that stretches across the playroom walls. I’ll send a pic…

At Lowes, they sell picture like sticky window covers?? Cling maybe?? You can cut it to your window and it helps keep light out and a little color inside!!!

Reminds me of the old joke. Man is hired to paint a church. He wants to make a profit so he adds water to the paint. Right after he gets done painting there is a cloudburst and all of the paint washes off the church. A voice says “Repaint, repaint and thin no more”!
I agree, that porthole window just doesn’t fit your beautiful home.

Yeah for $1 how could you not?

Love that joke!!
I’d like to just push the window out and let it crash to the ground.

You could hang a little clothes line across the window and hang a curtain with the clips! Hmmm….but where would you find the fabric?

Love the ladybug clips. and we have one of those windows, too, — but it’s in the ATTIC!
I was thinking the ladybug clips might be cute with a coordinated bulletin board for a little girl’s room.

Very cool. I can’t remember if you’ve shown the house from this angle before. Was it built in stages? Love the lady bug clips.

It is interesting to see your house from that angle!
I know you hate the porthole. You might want to bust a new window hole at the same time you raise the roof (to get a group discount of some kind??).

If it happens, we’ll likely raise the short roof so the porthole window would just become wall/hallway. It will require moving the tub too…doesn’t that sound like fun? Ugh.
The small (middle) part of the house was built 1839 that part of the house has a bathroom, kitchen w/ fireplace and a small bedroom upstairs. What I use as a pantry in the kitchen used to be a narrow stairwell to the upstairs bedroom. The front part (dining room, library, living room & 2 more bedrooms) was built around 1850-60. The garage I’m assuming went on in the 1930’s and the garage doors sometime around the 60’s.
