Lakefront Property!

Lakefront Property!

Apparently Horsey wanted a lake. This the view from my backyard. That’s my neighbor’s horse. That lake wasn’t there two days ago.

Upstate New York has had LOTS of flooding over the last 2 days and we’re supposed to get another big storm today. Good times. Apparently the water was waist high in the parking lot of the local grocery store. Not only did some poor woman’s car get flooded but they put a picture of her bent-over-ass-in-the-air-trying-to-get-the-water-out on the front page of the town paper. Oy.

Did I mention the 13 inches of water in my basement? Guess who’s sub pump didn’t turn on?

Roy is here to do some more handyman stuff. He checked on the sub pump, big mess, bigger than him. Will be calling a plumber asap. He said it’s now about a foot of straight up mud down there. Awesome.

Do you like mosquitoes? If you do, you’ll love Upstate New York. It’s humid, damp and mosquito soup outside.

Upstate Mom took that horsey/lake picture, she’s getting pretty good with her digital camera!

Oh dear! I am drowned from walk. Dogs also. When it rains here people take to kayaks. Not even kidding.

Such a pretty horse. Sorry about the water, the pump, the mosquitoes. Such are the rigors of weather & country life?

That is your backyard! Nice. Looks like something out of little house on the prairie. The rain has been ridiculous! You get soaked outside, only to have to go into a freezing air conditioned building or train. Arrg!

  4. jenni Says:

Not a fun day off. I WAS jealous, now I am not. Hope things dry up soon.
    We are finally getting rain.

Be sure the horses have EE vaccines.

  6. Marion Says:

Apparently frogs wanted a pond in my backyard. We have frogs where frogs have never lived. That’s all I’ll say, otherwise the &%*#%! language begins. And the mumbling. And twitching. You get the picture. Ah, upstate New York this summer.

  7. Joanne Says:

Oh my. Sorry to hear things are so soggy.

I do half expect Laura “Half Pint” Ingalls to run into the frame. :-)

    Sorry for your water woes…yikes! Sounds…expensive. :-(
