Fabric Mayhem, Flea Market Finds

Ironing In The Dark…

My jetlag is really terrible. The latest I’ve stayed up this week is 9PM. Mostly have been passing out around 7:30/8PM. Then at  3AM…pop awake. What to do?

Iron!

I’ve been ironing my sewing fabrics in the wee mornin’ hours. Penny Pickles Pocker is enjoying it. She loves when I work at my table and toss little scraps of fabric at her to play with.

Am currently working on deconstructing a 1970’s pillowcase. Love the color palette! I’m matching the yellow/lime/pink/blue/orange pillow case with a calico from Cranston fabrics. That calico is from the garage sale stash.

After ironing the fabric, I ironed the fusible interface onto them to make them sturdier. Remember all that fusible I bought? Something like 20 yards. This is all I have left…

Man, I’ve fused my head off this year.

This morning I started cutting up these 2 fabrics in anticipation of sewing them tonight…or tomorrow morning around 4AM.

Hey! Did you enter the contest to win Julia Child’s My Life In France yet? Get in there before Friday…

What are you going to make out of it?

I’ve made 3 of my bags so far, and added rick rack to them. Might make a laptop case as well, not sure yet.

I’m lovin’ that apple & pear fabric. Make the laptop case out of that.
