I Love Upstate

Oh Sew Much Nifty Stuff.

Tonight I had dinner with a bunch of friends including Erin Bried. Erin’s book How To Sew A Button (And Other Nifty Things Your Grandmother Knew) comes out on December 15th. Perfect Christmas gift!

I have an advance copy (Yay!!!) and am loving it. So many awesome items in this book like…

How to make strawberry jam

How to hand wash delicates

How to compost

How to wear red lipstick

How to make friends

How to start a book club

How to refresh rugs

How to hem pants

How to make a pillow

How to unclog a drain

How to give yourself a facial

How to swaddle a newborn baby

How to clip coupons

How to barter

How to unclog a sink

How to make gravy

Great concept, essential handy hints and super freakin’ cute cover!

What’s not to love?

Erin also made some videos that are up YouTube including this video which includes her interviews with many of the Grandmothers who offered up tips for the book. Super sweet.

Last but not least, check out Erin’s website HERE. Buy the book, it’s fantastic and a great gift item. Then, go hug your Grandma. If you don’t have a Grandma, borrow one.

That’s a book I could definitely use! I’ve been known to have the dry cleaner sew on buttons etc.. for me. I am decidedly not a crafty person.
